VernSews

VernSews encompasses my sewing and knitting wearables.

I source fabrics from stores and warehouses throughout the Midwest. I love working with colorful fabrics with unique textures. You will find vibrant prints in silky, velvet, and plush fabrics. My patterns are a variety of self drafted, published, and free prints available on the internet.

In addition to fully constructed garments, I also rework old clothing items into new items. I like to incorporate ruffly hems (lettuce hems), vintage trims, and applique techniques to upcycle.

My knitted pieces are made on either a circular knitting loom or machine. The panels and tubes are stitched together to construct sweaters and tanks.

I enjoy simple jewelry making with fun beads and charms.

I also make animal plushies like narwhals and llamas out of fuzzy fleece.
